A couple of weeks ago I won NatuRia Beauty's twitter giveaway and she sent over one of Souk Souk's September Little Green Beauty Box*. Souk Souk offer a monthly beauty subscription service offering a selection of five "green" beauty products, with each box costing £10 (plus p&p). Obviously, the products I received are no longer available (if you signed up now to Souk Souk you would receive their next beauty box in December) but it gives me an idea of the sort of products I might receive.
September's Little Green Beauty Box included two products from The Earth Works Company, their Virgin Coconut and Lime Body Butter (10g) and Grapefruit Exfoliater (10g). I like the consistency of both of these products but I'm not a huge fan of the Coconut and Lime scent, the exfoliater is much more up my street as it is gentle whilst still being effective. There was another body butter from Pure Thoughts, the Whipped Shea Body Butter is really, really nice. Unlike the other body butter it has a really creamy texture which I love and the packaging is adorable, especially as I can re-use the tin when I next travel. Another product in the box is the Organic Miracle Goddess Serum from LJ's Natural Solutions. It sounds like a lovely skincare product but it will have to take a back seat for now as I'm already trialling a full skincare routine. Lastly, I finally got my hands on a Hurraw Lip Balm and the flavour I received is Chai Spice which is absolutely perfect for this time of year! I really wish I'd tried these lip balms sooner as the formula is really lovely and the scent is strong without being at all fake. I love it and would love to try some more flavours in the future.
All in all I think that Souk Souk's boxes aren't necessarily always going to be great value for money but they are a lovely way to discover new natural beauty brands. I think the sample sizes are all sufficient to get a suitable flavour for the products and I like the look of all the products I received. If you're interested in checking out these boxes for yourself then check out Souk Souk's website.

ReplyDeleteI quite liked this box! I keep forgetting to cancel my subscription...not because I don't like the boxes but because I have so many samples haha! It's well worth subscribing though if you're looking to get into green beauty as you discover loads of brands :)
