I feel like I talk about my hands so much on my blog, but they just really do need an extra bit of TLC. I really like trying hand creams and calming or soothing body products and
Botanicals Lavender & Chamomile Soothing Salve* (
£15.95) has really impressed me. It won't be to everyone's taste as it has an oily consistency but it not ony improves the feel of my skin but also the appearance. I can see the difference between the hand I've applied it to and the hand that I haven't. It's kind of like my skin just drinks it up and then is left looking happier and healthier as a result. Plus, it's 89% organic and packed full of natural ingredients so it's the sort of product that you
want your skin to soak up. I'm really happy with this and Botanicals are one of those brands that I could easily envision lining my bathroom shelves.
I'm not usually big on nail polish but recently I have been wearing a shade that I think is really pretty! I picked up
Orly's Nail Lacquer in Terra Mauve (
£1.99) from Fragrance Direct a while ago now and I'm currently wearing it and am obsessed the shade. It's a mid-toned plum colour that looks sophisticated but not too boring and it seems to work really well against my slightly-tanned, but still quite fair, skin. The formula of the polish seems to be pretty good so far and I'm in love with Orly's nail polish bottles, the rubber handles make them effortless to open which is brilliant as hard to open bottles have always been a pet-peeve of mine!
I've changed up my hair routine in the last couple of weeks, but mainly going back to old half-used products rather than trying new things. The only truly new addition I've made has been
Sexy Hair's Soy Renewal Creme Oil* (£20.50) and I can't rave about this stuff enough. It's left my hair looking glossy and silky smooth, and you only need to apply the tiniest amount too. I've been using a sample I was very kindly gifted but when it runs out I'll definitely be purchasing the full-size! I've been using Sexy Hair's leave in conditioners for years now but this is the best one that I've tried yet, I'm a total convert and would highly recommend it.
I talked about my skincare routine early on in July and it's stayed pretty much the same except for a change up of my serum
(I swapped out AEOS' Realive Serum* for Pestle and Mortar's Hyularonic Serum* which I'll be reviewing soon). However, I did swtich up my SPF to test out
ESPA's Optimal Skin Pro Defence* (
£35.00) which I've really enjoyed using - I've sadly thrown my empty bottle away so I've substituted it for the Optimal Skin Pro Serum in my photos (
which, as it happens, is just as lovely). It's a little bit lower on the SPF front than I usually like but I really like how this feels on my skin and it's great for days when I'm not planning to be out in the sun much but still want some sort of skin protection. And on days when I have been out and about and my skin's feeling a little bit more worn-out than usual I've been particularly enjoying my
Zk'in Hydrating Mist* (
£22.95). It's essentially just a really lovely organic toner, but it feels much more healing and nourishing than any other toner I've used before. I love using it when my skin feels dry, tight or even a bit hot from sun exposure. I find that it helps to cool my skin down and refresh me, and I feel reassured that it's full of good ingredients.
A recent makeup shake-up saw me rocking incredibly vivid matte lips earlier this week. I recieved
Sephora's Cream Lip Stain in Mandarin Muse (
$14.00) as a birthday present from my best friend and I've become obsessed with these sorts of bright orange/orange-red shades. It's really similar to a lipstick I already own,
L'Oreal's Color Riche Matte Lipstick in Cliché Mania (
£6.99), but the Sephora Cream Lip Stain is slightly more matte and with better longevity. I quite like how these two products look when used together. Applying Mandarin Muse first means that the colour will stick around but adding a layer of Cliché Mania over the top makes my lips look slightly less flat and just a touch more red. It's not a combination for the faint hearted but it's a bold and classic lip-look that I love reaching for! As with most orange-reds they do leave your teeth looking on the yellow side, but I've actually been using
Pearl Drops' Specialist White Lasting Flawless White Tooth Polish* (
£6.50) and it's made a visible improvement to the appearance of my teeth. It got to work as soon as I started using it and although my teeth haven't been dramatically altered I do appreciate that they're slightly whiter and brighter!
What beauty products have you been loving recently?
Have you tried any of the products I've been using recently?
Ive tried the Pearl Drops toothpaste and I've noticed my teeth have become slightly whiter. Other than that, I haven't tried any of the other products from your post, but the Sexy Hair Healthy Soy Renewal Creme Oil sounds very promising!
