A Much Anticipated RMS Beauty Haul (and a treat for you)

Over the last month or so I've been getting more and more into natural and cruelty free beauty products and have realised that in almost all areas there are viable alternatives to many of the products I repurchase simply out of habit. I've heard really great things about RMS beauty products but the thing that always put me off indulging in any of them was the price. However, I really do think this was just a poor excuse because I can think back and remember spending more money on similar products from brands like Benefit and Dior so I think my real hesitation was about whether natural beauty alternatives were worth splashing out on. This month I've been reading more blogs that feature (sometimes exclusively) natural beauty products - Ana Goes Green, The Ramblings of a Beauty Bird, Sugarpuffish, Beauty Balm, NatuRia Beauty, Amber's Beauty Talk - and from their blogs and their reviews I got the impression that I should bite the bullet and go for it.

Once I'd made the decision to invest I just had to work out which products to go for. I had a lot of help on twitter which I really appreciated and in the end I opted for RMS Beuaty's Beauty's Buriti Bronzer (RRP £25) and RMS Beauty's Living Luminzer (RRP £30). I looked into purchasing them from Love Lula and Naturisimo as both had £10 off vouchers on a £50 spend.  In the end I opted for Naturisimo because I could choose 5 free samples with my order. I picked up free sachet samples of Lavera's Wild Rose 24 Hour Moisturising Cream, Lavera's Soft Moisturising Creme and A'kin's Purely Revitalising Firming Night Creme. La Roche Posay's Effaclar Anti-Blemish System International Giveaway

I've had some really good experiences with La Roche Posay's products, especially their Effaclar Duo + which I found made a big difference to my blemish prone skin. Recently I was given the opportunity to trial La Roche Posay's newly released Effaclar Anti Blemish System* which includes three skincare products designed to be used together as a three step skincare regime. International Origins Skincare Giveaway

Recently I've been on the hunt for hydrating skincare products for my dad, who suffers from very dry skin. He decided a couple of weeks ago to give his current 'beauty routine' an overhaul - including new skin and body care products. Over the last few weeks he's tried out some of the skincare I use and whilst not all of it has been to his taste he did ask me to get him duplicates of some of the products in my collection. Two items he particularly liked were from Origins, the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and the High Potency Night A Mins Mineral Enriched Renewal Cream. When I purchased these two products from Origins' website they came with a couple of free trial size products. My dad decided to keep one of these freebies but he has very kindly said I could use the other two as a giveaway prize as a thank you for helping him. 2014 New Year's Giveaway

I've been a little bit scattered over the last couple of weeks - lets blame my essay deadlines - so this giveaway is going live a little bit later than I'd planned. The Body Shop is one of my favourite shops for pretty much everything beauty related. I recently went into one of their stores and gave pretty much everything in there a sniff and I really fell in love with the Honeymania line. None of these products were sent to me by The Body Shop, I just thought I would pick out a couple of products to give away that I knew I'd love to try myself.

Origins Christmas Giveaway

Very recently I reached 800 subscribers over on Bloglovin' and for me this was a massive achievement for which I am thoroughly grateful. I remember when I started blogging last year and I would stumble across blogs that had 800 subscribers, they were just the bee's knees and I would read them avidly (and I still do). Well, now this blog has become one of those blogs - I have more people reading what I write than I ever could have imagined. It's spooky but also really very nice. The interaction I have with those of you who follow me (however it is that you choose to) is really wonderful and it consistently makes my days better. 

My aims for the upcoming months, for forever really, are to try and keep my posting schedule consistent (sorry for last week's lapse, I just needed a break!) whilst also aiming to only write posts that I personally would be interested in reading.  I want those of you who have been around since I began writing to want to stick around! I'm also going to host a little Christmas/milestone giveaway to give two of you lovely people a little gift to say thank you. I chose some Origins products because I really love the brand and I thought that these two products were particularly seasonally appropriate as they're both great products to sort out dry, tired-of-winter, skin.

My Lanolips Competition Win (and a little giveaway for you!)

Not very long ago I entered a Lanolips Instagram competition where I had to take a fun and interesting picture of a Lanolips Lip Ointment With Colour (I had the shade Rhubarb). My photo entry won the competition and in doing so I won myself the entire Lanolips product range! You can see everything I won in the photos below and you'll see all the very pretty Lanolips packaging.

So...? Fragrance with Attitude Goody Bag and a Giveaway!

Last week I posted about my time at the So....? Sexy launch  and today I'm going to quickly show you what I was lucky enough to take home with me from the event in the goody bag. Now, I haven't tried many So...? products in the past so even though the brand is definitely more associated with girls a little bit younger than myself I was very happy to be able to try out some of the range. Before I started blogging I'd never tried any So...? products and up until now I've only tried their dry shampoos (which are actually very good - and don't leave  a white cast on the hair). 

While I was at the event I got to smell the entire range of fragrances and my favourite was definitely So...? In Love closely seconded by So...? Enticing* - which I just happened to get in my goody bag! It's a very sweet, girly scent but it isn't overly strong so it's hard to over do it. It doesn't last all day but the packaging is sturdy enough for it to be flung into my handbag. I'll probably use this after gym sessions as my other perfumes aren't really transportable.

Did you know that So...? did lip glosses? Because I didn't! I saw these at the event and I got a pair of them in my goody bag. They smell very sweet but the scents are actually quite nice. The lip glosses are aligned with fragrances and I've only tried the So...? Fab* lip gloss so far but I found that it wasn't sticky at all (thank goodness) and offered a very sheer wash of colour that wasn't sparkly. I haven't opened the So...? In Love* lip gloss tube so I'm going to include that in the little giveaway that I'll go into more detail about below!

Another item in my goody bag was the So...? Exclusive* fragrance that comes in a velvet box! I took it out of the box to take photos but I haven't sprayed any of the perfume. I smelt this at the event and I liked it but it's a little bit strong for me - think statement, evening scent. I love the bottle though! Shaped like a microphone it'll give you something to sing into as you dance around your room (you'll find me doing just that to Taylor Swift pretty much every morning).

NEW YEAR'S GIVEAWAY

I'm still chirping on about the New Year and am using it as my excuse for my second giveaway. I got quite a lot of L'Occitane products for Christmas (I'm having such brand love for them right now) and with two online purchases being made I just happened to get a duplicate free gift of a gorgeous travel set. As much as I adore the set, keeping both of them seems a little bit greedy of me especially as I have so many products to get through as it is. As you can see it comes in a really pretty, pink bag which can be used to store the products or as a make-up or travel bag for your other toiletries.
