What's in my Glossybox? April 2013

So this month’s Glossybox FINALLY showed up! I don’t  know why but I always get my monthly box days and days after everyone else. It wouldn’t matter so much if the surprise wasn’t ruined by everyone talking about the boxes on twitter. ANYWAY. Now it’s here I can show you what I got, and I have to say that I am exceptionally pleased with Glossybox this month. Also, how nice is the special edition box this month?

Essie nail polish in the shade Rose Bowl This is such a stunner of a colour, a bright, hot pink and Essie polishes have just the nicest formula. Couldn’t be happier with this to be honest! This has an RRP of £7.99 and is fullsize.

Sleek blush in the shade Flamingo I love Sleek make-up but this is almost a hot a pink as the nail polish! I’m going to give it a go but I have to say I am a little bit nervous about trying this shade out.  I don’t want to end up looking like a clown! Glossybox offered three different shades in their boxes this month, all full size, with an RRP of £4.49.

Nip + Fab’s Mango Smoothie Dry Skin Fix Body Butter I’ve been keen to try this for absolutely ages now so I’m really pleased I received a sample of it. I love mango scents and I have high hopes for this body butter. The full size is 200ml with an RRP of £9.99.

 A-Derma lip balm It took me ages of trying to decipher the box (which isn’t in English- anywhere!) before I just gave up and opened it to find a really gorgeous lip balm inside. The packaging looks and feels exciting and the product is thick and intensely moisturising, and after looking this up online I've found out it's 100% natural. Super happy to try this out! This has an RRP of £7.95.

 5ml sample of Yves Rocher’s So Elixir Purple Eau de Parfum I’m usually against perfume samples but this is actually a very generous sized one and the scent is lovely for this time of year, I love how floral it is but it is a tad strong so a gentle hand is needed. Full size has an RRP of £44.

All in all I was really happy with this month’s box, everything I received I can see myself using and some of the products *cough* the nail polish *cough* I can see myself wearing allll summer.

Glossybox Review March 2013

I received my March Glossybox yesterday and I thought I'd show you what I got! 

Treseme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray 100ml 

This is one of the products in the box that I'll get some use out of. I haven't tried many Treseme products so I'm pleased that this is in the box this month, although hair spray isn't exactly an exciting product!

Juicy Couture 'Couture La La' Perfume Sample 1.5ml

I can't say how much I dislike receiving perfume samples in beauty boxes! You can pick these up for free at department stores! The scent isn't up my street either so this is an all round 'loser' of a product in my book.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush Moisturising Lip Stain

This is the other product in the beauty box that I really like the look of. I'm a big fan of Revlon's Lip Balm Stain so I'm really hoping this is as good, or even better- especially as this has an RRP of £12!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream 7ml Sample 

I don't know how I feel about this sample, it's relatively small but the fullsize product is quite expensive so it is nice to be able to see if you like the product before chancing my money on it. However, sadly for me I've already tried this and not liked it! I'm going to be passing this straight on to my Dad who I know uses this product regularly, but personally this isn't something I was happy to see. (Doesn't mean you'd feel the same way though!)

Nail Inc London Nail Polish Sample in the shade 'St. James'

I was a bit disappointed with this sample to be honest. It's tiny! And it is in a shade that Glamour included as a free gift a couple of months ago, which meant that for less money I got a lot more product. It's a lovely shade though, so those of you who didn't take advantage of Glamour's freebies you'll probably really enjoy using this.

Overall, I really wasn't that happy with this month's box! I have enough Glossydots to get a free box next month but if I didn't I would be unsubscribing. I'd love to know how you feel about this month's box though.

February Glossybox 2013

So this month's Glossybox is Valentine's Day themed and unlike last month the box contained a healthy proportion of make-up. I'm actually quite pleased with my box this month as I can see myself using every single one of the products

The value of my box this month is £24.49 based on the provided R.R.P.s of the full size products.

First up is Anatomicals You Need a Blooming Shower Your Nose Smells Rose Body Cleanser. This is a half-size sample which comes in at a value of £2.50 and is quite a hefty size for shower gel/body cleanser sample so I'm pleased about that.. I'm actually really glad that I received this as I LOVE rose scents and this one is very, very rose scented indeed. I also haven't tried anything from the Anatomicals range before so this is definitely a nice product for me to start with.

Next up is MeMeMe's Fat Cat Volumizing Mascara which is a full size product and has a value of £8. I love the matte black packaging and I've been pleased with the quality of MeMeMe products that I've tried in the past so overall this is another product that I'm happy with. (Although I wouldn't exactly say that this OR the Anatomicals products are 'luxury' items.)

The next product in this month's Glossybox was Sassoon's Shine Spray. I love Sassoon products, I've never owned any but I used to get my hair done in Vidal Sassoon salons and I always loved the products that they used on my hair. I'm very excited to try this but it is quite a small sample of only 50ml compared to the 250ml full size making the value of this sample £2.97. I'm very excited to give this product a whirl- I have high hopes for it!

The next product was a Miner's Lipstick. I've not heard much about this brand so can't really make much of a judgement until I test the product out. The shade I received is called 'Dreamer' and looked like a wearable pink shade until I saw how much glitter was in it... It's actually quite a wearable shade of pink but the glitter in it will probably mean that it doesn't get a lot of daytime wear. This is another full size product though with a value of £4.99.

The last sample in my box was a Micabella Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadow in the shade Intelligence. I love the look of 'Intelligence' which looks to be a bronze colour (a staple shade for me) and I'm a big fan of mineral eye shadows so this is all round another good product in my eyes. The sample size is 1g giving this a value of £5.98. I was glad to see a more 'luxury' make-up brand in the box, it's just a shame that this wasn't full sized rather than the Miner's or MeMeMe products.

The little extra product included by Glossybox this month was a heart shaped lolly. This is in keeping with the box's theme and is a very cute thing to include but I have to admit that it doesn't appeal to me really! I'll be saving this for my flatmate when he gets back after the weekend. 

Overall, I was really pleased with this month's box as 4/5 of the products I really loved and the lipstick still could be wearable so it isn't a complete disaster inclusion. I'm also really glad that this month there was more make-up included in the box as sometimes I do feel as though these beauty boxes can be a little bit over-saturated with skin care but  not this month so I'm going to stay subscribed and hope that next month I have the same luck.
