Look Fantastic's April Beauty Box* is, as it always is, a fantastic beauty pick-me-up. I am routinely impressed with the brands that Look Fantastic gets involved in their boxes, and with the generous sizes of all the samples included each month. #LFBlooms features a fantastic array of natural and organic products, which probably makes it my favourite Look Fantastic beauty box so far. As always, I've given you the low-down on each of the products, and I've also included the value of the samples wherever I can.
The first product that Look Fantastic subscribers will notice in their April Beauty Box is a complimentary copy of this month's Elle magazine. Look Fantastic has been including magazines in their boxes for the last couple of months and I think it's a really welcome addition. I know that I buy at least one or two magazines a month (usually to check out the make-up artistry, and handbag trends - I'm big into handbags) so it's nice to get one delivered to my door each month. Plus it makes Look Fantastic's beauty boxes even better value for money!
Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish* | £18.00 for 200ml
sample value £4.50
I feel as though some people might not be super keen to see this exfoliating scrub making another appearance in Look Fantastic's beauty boxes - but I am not one of those people. I absolutely adore Balance Me's natural and cruelty free body care range, and these 50ml tubes are perfect for the upcoming summer season where lots of us will be taking holidays. And if you don't need travel sizes, then this will work just as well in your bathroom at home. Exfoliating is really important year round as it keeps your skin looking it's best, but as the weather gets warmer I know that I start to make even more effort to keep my limbs looking soft and smooth. Here's to beautiful summer skin courtesy of Balance Me!
Bloom and Blossom Bath and Shower Gel* | £11.50 for 150ml
sample value £3.83
I don't usually get too excited about fragrance free shower gels, but I do still get excited about discovering new brands. I haven't heard much about Bloom and Blossom on blogs but they offer a range of natural products designed for sensitive skins, and this bath and shower gel is free from SLS and safe to use through pregnancy. I'm pretty keen on the modern, monochrome packaging but I think I won't know how excited to be about this discovery until I put it to the test for myself.
Briogeo Don't Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask*
This is another brand that's totally new to me, but I absolutely love the packaging - and it definitely left a good first impression. Briogeo specialise in natural haircare and this hair mask is totally cruelty free and made from 95% naturally derived ingredients. It sounds like a really lovely product, packed full of hair-loving ingredients - including avocado, sweet almond and organ oils - to nourish and condition dry and unhappy hair. This is exactly the sort of product that I've promised myself I'll try and use more often to try and rejuvenate the rather sorrowful ends of my hair (too much heat styling...), so I'll look forward to trying this soon.
Elemis Hand and Nail Butter* | £18 for 100ml
sample value £3.60
I love seeing Elemis in Look Fantastic's beauty boxes, I'm a big fan of the brand and generally really enjoy their natural, British-made products. As soon as I opened April's box I immediately tried out this hand cream and my first impressions have stuck with me. I absolutely love the creamy texture but I'm not a big fan of its natural, herbal fragrance. It does an incredibly job of hydrating dry skin but I know that the scent won't be for everyone. Still, I'm never one to refuse an effective hand cream, especially when it's the perfect size to pop in my handbag.
Monu TanWorx Tan Maintainer* | £11.20 for 120ml
sample value £5.60
Despite not being super "into" tanning I have actually used this product before, and it makes for a wonderful moisturiser. The idea behind it is that if you have well hydrated skin then your tan - whether it's "real" or "fake" - will last longer, so Monu created a light-weight yet effective body lotion. I think it's a really generously sized sample to include in the beauty box and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go to see how you get on with it.
Rituals Miracle Scrub Ultra Softening Hand Scrub* | £11.50 for 75 ml
sample value £11.50 - full size sample
When I first opened April's beauty box I thought that this was a very generous sample size, and low-and-behold it's actually a full-size product. Plus, it's from Rituals, which is one of those brands that I always lust after when I see them in department stores or on blogs. I know that not everyone is "into" exfoliation, but I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that it makes all the difference. If you want your skin to be silky soft then you need to exfoliate as well as moisturise. I actually suffer from incredibly dry hands and I've been exfoliating them as part of my beauty routine for years now - and it really, really helps. I haven't tried many dedicated hand scrubs (I usually just repurpose gentle body scrubs) so I'll be really interested in seeing how I get along with this. Plus, if you don't want to pamper your hands then you can always use this on your body.
My Vitamins Performance Effervescent
For me, this is the least interesting product in this month's Look Fantastic beauty box, but I think that many Berocca fans will be interested in trying out an alternative.
Last but not least, included in Look Fantastic's April Beauty Box* is this great discount code for Living Nature's range of natural skincare and makeup. I've tried a range of their products and really enjoyed them - products of note are the Skin Revive Exfoliant and their range of organic lipsticks.
All in all, I'm really really impressed with Look Fantastic's April Beauty Box. I love the range of natural beauty products included, as well as the variety of brands. Boxes cost £11.25 - £15.00 depending on whether you sign up for one-off box or a multi-month subscription, but at either end of that price range I think that they always represent good value for money.
