Review: Macadamia No Tangle Brush
I've been using a TangleTeezer for about nine months now and as much as I love it I think I've stumbled across a better option…
Macadamia's No Tangle Brush* has really impressed me so far. For one, it has a handle which makes it easier to use than my TangleTeezer but I also think that the plastic bristles on the Macadamia No Tangle Brush are better suited to my mid-length/long hair as the bristles are a little bit thicker and longer than the ones on my TangleTeezer. I don't have have thick hair but I do have a lot of fine hair and I feel as though the Macadamia No Tangle Brush works its magic more quickly on my hair. I use it on wet and dry hair - when my hair is damp (after I've towel dried it) I use this brush before applying any hair oils or serums and when my hair is dry it works perfectly well at taming my unruly locks. It's an all round good egg and it's become the brush I reach for every day.
I really like Macadamia products, I've reviewed Macadamia's Healing Oil Spray (link here) in the past which I've since used up along with an entire bottle of their Nourishing Leave in Cream - both of which I'd recommend. The No Tangle Brush hasn't left me disappointed and it has very quickly become a daily essential of mine. You can find it at HQHair.com for £7.95* along with the other Macadamia products I've mentioned (link here).
What hair brushes do you like using? Have you tried any of Macadamia's products before?

My Hair Care Routine Staples
Through trial and error I've narrowed down my at home summer hair care routine to five essentials. Now, don't get me wrong, I do flit about with different products here and there but these are the products I find my reaching for daily without fail.
Up first is my shampoo choice of the moment. I'm pretty disloyal when it comes to haircare but I'm nearly through this bottle of Aussie's Mega Shampoo and I like it enough to pick up another bottle. That's high praise from me! It's gives a pretty thorough cleanse in just one application (which is great for me as I'm not shampooing daily and therefore often have dry shampoo to get rid off) so I don't ever need to rinse and repeat but, importantly, it doesn't dry out my hair. Best of all this is really easily available and pretty affordable too! I really need to try more of the Aussie range, if you have any recommendations do let me know in the comments.
I've been trying to be better about using conditioner - I used to find it really hard to summon the energy to bother! My conditioner of choice has been going strong since Christmas and it's Kerastase's Cristaliste Lait Cristal. This conditioner is like a miracle in a bottle. You only need the smallest amount and I leave this on my hair for a minute (usually whilst I shave / douse myself in moisturising shower oil). Once you rinse it off your hair is honestly transformed into healthy, shiny looking hair. I would find it hard to go back to using anything else after this as it's hard to find something so nourishing and effective that doesn't weigh down my hair.
I added in this very light Soy Tri Wheat Leave-In Conditioner from Healthy Sexy Hair when I received for my birthday in early July and I've really been enjoying it. It's incredibly light (I really can't stress this enough) with a very fine mist making it perfect to use as a detangling spray. It won't weigh your hair down at all and best of all it smells flipping magical, like mouth-wateringly good (sort of like cocoa butter but the scent is lighter and sweeter). I apply a spritz of this into soaking wet hair before using my tangle teezer and I love it.
Once I've towel dried my hair I like to use a hair oil (or hair serum, but generally I prefer hair oils) to nourish, condition but more importantly de-frizz. I find that Moroccan Oil, Macadamia Oil and L'Oreal Elvive's Extraordinary Oil for Fine Hair to be the best options. Though, I've almost completely used up my 125ml of Macadamia Healing Oil Spray so it's safe to say that I reach for that the most. It also doubles up as a fantastic overnight conditioning treatment and I often use it for this purpose too.
Lastly, I don't always reach for hair spray but recently I've found one that I really like and I've been using it a lot. L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hair Spray (Normal Hold) is a very good hairspray and it's helped me out recently, especially when I've been tying my hair up (which has been quite a regular occurrence). I know it's a pretty basic, staple product but I've been using it a lot so it merited a mention!
I'm on the look out for new hair products to try in the future so any and all recommendations would be much appreciated. What haircare or hair styling products would you consider to be your staples?

REVIEW: Macadamia Healing Oil Spray
After introducing a new conditioner into my hair care regime and noticing the effects it had I thought that I'd treat my hair to an oil, replacing my usual cheap and cheerful leave-in conditioning spray. I hadn't tried any of the Macadamia range before trying this Healing Oil Spray so I didn't really know what to expect in the quality of the product or the effects that it would have on my hair.
I've been seriously wowed by the instant and long lasting effects of this oil. It adds shine, softness and manageability to my hair (which in this season is a big ask). All you have to do is spray it quite sparingly on the ends and even more sparingly on the mid lengths of damp, towel dried hair before styling. I don't blow dry my hair so I don't know how it works with heat but when I let my hair dry by itself it just really helps to keep my hair sleek and under control. It's even had an effect on my split ends- I usually get quite a few between hair cuts but my hair has been in great condition lately and I put this down to adding this into my routine.
I know that the Macadamia range isn't all that cheap but I picked this up (along with the Macadamia leave-in cream) for just £19 from BuyaPowa so it is definitely worth keeping an eye out for offers like this. I've also seen a lot of Macadamia products in my local TK Maxx but even there this 125ml bottle was still quite costly at just over £20. I do, however, think that this is worth every penny as it leaves your hair amazingly soft, nourished and you don't need to use very much at all so even a 60ml bottle [£12.95 from FeelUnique] would last you a long time. I'm going to be trialling the Macadamia leave-in cream next and I have really high hopes for that too, it has the same scent as the oil which is a little odd but in a good, sweet (nutty I suppose!) sort of way.
Do you use a hair oil? If so what do you use and how is it? I'm keen to try some of the Morrocon Oil range now to see how it stands up against this!
