My New L'Oreal Trio: Mini Makeup Reviews

onelittlevice beauty blog: l'oreal makeup reviews

What started this whole mini L'oreal haul was my hunt for a lipgloss. I adore the Mac Cremesheen Gloss formula but pre-Christmas I just wasn't in the mood to splurge on makeup as I'd overdone it on jewellery (keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming Tiffany collection blog post). In the past I've read good things about L'Oreal's Infallible Gloss collection and so I set out to swatch some of their cream colours. The stand in my local Superdrug only had two shades in L'Oreal's Cream formulation (which is quite similar to Mac's Cremesheen Gloss formulation) and I ended up buying one of them. I chose L'Oreal's Infallible Cream Finish Mega Gloss in Shade 110 / I Got the Power (£6.99) and I think it might just be the perfect nude lipgloss. It feels thick and plumping without being too heavy or greasy, and I think that the colour would suit many skin tones. I also love the applicator, which delivers a great amount of product onto the lips and makes it easy to achieve an even and neat finish. Honestly, I think that it's great value for money and I'd definitely consider purchasing another shade of these Infallible Mega Glosses if I found another cream shade that I liked.

Whilst I was shopping I couldn't help but notice L'Oreal's special edition "Gold" range, which featured limited edition versions of some of their popular products. I was particularly drawn to L'Oreal Superliner Ultra Precision Eyeliner in Black Gold (£6.99), as I use the regular black version already and am a big fan of the formulation and applicator. It's really easy to achieve a neat finish, and once applied this eyeliner sticks around all day long. The limited edition Black Gold shade is a lovely and subtle alternative to the traditional black eyeliner look - the gold shimmer is subtle but noticeable, and is suitable for both day and evening wear. I wore this Black Gold shade all through December and most of January and I have really enjoyed being able to wear something different from my normal everyday eyeliner.

Finally, I also picked up the L'Oreal Color Riche Gold Obsession Lipstick in Nude Gold (£6.99) and this is the product that I've used the least. I love the idea of the colour, and I'm not generally afraid of shimmery/frosty lip colours. However, this nude shade is every so slightly peachy and this isn't the most flattering on my pale mid-winter complexion. I think that the shade would better suit warmer and more tanned skin, so I think I'll have to wait until the summer to get more regular use out of the lipstick. In terms of the formula, it feels very creamy on the lips and is comfortable to wear, but I do have to reapply this quite often as the lasting power doesn't compare to my more expensive lipsticks. If this isn't a concern, then I'd say the range is worth a try. The darker plummy shade is very attractive, and if I didn't already own far too many lipsticks then I'd probably have also bought that colour too!

It's been a while since I tried anything new from L'Oreal, so I'm really pleased with how much I've enjoyed using these products. The lipgloss and eyeliner are regular contenders for my everyday makeup, and the lipstick will definitely get more love later on in the year. If you have any L'Oreal recommendations then I'd love to read about them in the comments section.
