Love Lula March Beauty Box Review
For the last few months I've been receiving Love Lula's Natural Beauty Box - a monthly beauty subscription box that contains only natural beauty products. For £12.50 a month I've found it to be a cost effective and fun way to try out new brands and new products that I otherwise might never think to buy for myself. I received my Love Lula March Beauty Box last week and I was really, really happy with the contents. Not only does it contain some wonderful natural beauty brands but it also represents excellent value for money. My Thoughts
When I first picked the box up I found it to be considerably lighter in weight than last month - initially, this worried me as I thought that maybe it would just be stuffed full of sachets. Actually, what I found was that there was a really nice array of products. I liked that there's a little bit of everything - from skincare, body care as well as the EcoTools brushes and BB Cream sample. I'm also very happy to have been introduced to a new brand -Vinali - as well as coming across some old favourites including Balance Me and Madara. I still think that LoveLula is one of the best beauty boxes available and I have yet to be disappointed. If you're interested in trying more natural beauty products then I'd highly recommend the service - a monthly beauty box delivery for £12.50, that always arrives promptly and that's never missing any products. My Face Mask Collection: What I Reach For When
Pictured above is my entire face mask collection - I didn't realise I had so many until I came to take the photograph! I thought that I would break down my collection into rough categories, sharing when I reach for what face mask and what I think they're good for. If you're looking for a new face mask to try then I hope this breakdown helps you choose between some very stiff competition!
When I want to exfoliate and brighten my skin...
I tend to reach for an AHA peel, and the two in my collection at the moment are Madara's Brightening AHA Peel Mask* and Elemental Herbology's Facial Glow. They're both very similar but I think that the Facial Glow is a little bit stronger, making it more effective but also harsher on the skin. However, if you are thinking of trying it out then a good idea is to check Naturisimo's sample section where I usually pick up 15ml tubes for just £2.50 (this is the cheapest way to get your hands on it).
When I want to declog my pores...
I reach for a clay mask, my long standing favourite is Origins' Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask but I also really like Glam Glow's Youth Mud. A cheaper alternative is Super Facialist's Tea Flower Pore Purifying Mask, but I do find it quite harsh on my more dry and sensitive skin - so I only use this on my t-zone.
When I have painful under-the-skin spots...
I like to reach for something cleansing that isn't too harsh. My two picks are Aesop's Parsley Seed Mask and Antipodes' Aura Manuka Honey Mask. Both do a similar job but Antipodes' mask is slightly more gentle and moisturising. This tends to be the mask that I reach for when I have hormonal breakouts, my current tube is a repurchase and I'd choose it over the Parsley Seed Mask.
When my skin is dry and lacks radiance...
I like to use facial oils and intensive moisturising treatments. My favourite one to repurchase is Origins' Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask which is a very thick cream mask with a gorgeous fruity scent. When I want to really pamper my skin I crack out Decleor's Aroma Essence Iris Rejuvenating Treatment*. It's a really expensive product full of essential oils that I use very sparingly, but when I do reach for it I notice that it really leaves my skin looking particularly soft and supple.

Madara Brightening AHA Peel Mask
If you read my last natural beauty wish list then you may recognise this Brightening AHA Peel Mask from Madara*. I've been looking for a new exfoliating treatment for a while now so when the natural beauty website MyPure very kindly gave me the opportunity to pick a couple of products from their website at the beginning of the month I jumped at the opportunity of finally putting this mask to the test.
Madara Brightening AHA Peel Mask*
The mask is available in two sizes, 15ml (RRP £5.50) and 60ml (RRP £20) - I opted for the smaller size, just in case I found it too harsh to use. Luckily, I've only had good experiences since I started using it! I've been applying it twice weekly (the face mask comes with comprehensive instructions on how often you can/should apply it dependent on your skin type) and I noticed an immediate improvement in the texture of my skin. Even after one use my skin was smoother and softer, and with repeated use I've also found that its having a positive effect on the appearance of my pores. Although 15ml might sound small, I've already used this mask five times and I think I could easily get a few more uses out of it. In retrospect, I should have opted for the larger 60ml tube but I think it is really nice that travel size tubes are available to ensure that you can test the product out before investing in a full-size product.
MyPure has only just started stocking Madara's face masks and I'm really glad that they have otherwise I may never have discovered the brand. Madara won "Best Face Cream" at the 2014 Natural Beauty Awards and the entire range was also Highly Commended as the "Best Organic Range" at the same awards. Their range is entirely natural and is certified by ECOCERT. Full of fruit acids, vitamin C and lactic acid, Madara's AHA Peel Mask is supposed to brighten and unclog skin to leave it looking more radiant and feeling smoother. I for one have been really impressed with my first foray into Madara's skincare and I'd definitely consider trying more products from their range. If only they did makeup…. hold up, they do? Please excuse me whilst I go and give that a browse!
