Benefit Products Worth Trying

Benefit Products Worth the Money

Often when people say something is worth trying they often mean that trying the product in question won't hurt you or seriously disappoint and therefore why not. Well, money is why not. I know it's not always "cool" to talk about money and to consider affordability when recommending products but as a student (and especially as a postgraduate student) my budget kind of rules my life. Budgeting can be considered as boring and somewhat of a fun-suck but for me it is essential to living an organised life in which I can look forward to my great pleasures - namely, travelling the world. So, today's post is not just about Benefit products that are worth trying, it's about the products that are genuinely worth their cost. The Benefit products I'm going to be mentioning today are all worthwhile investment pieces that make great presents (to give as well as receive) as they'll last a really long time. You'll also notice that a lot of the Benefit products I'm going to mention are sample sized or miniatures and there's a good reason for this - I purchase magazines with Benefit samples whenever I can because this makes not only affordable but practically cheap. And then they go and last forever and a day meaning that I haven't had to repurchase many of them yet.

In short, if you live off a tight budget, if you're trying to save or if you rely on your pocket money to fund your beauty addiction then listen up because these are the Benefit products that are worth buying with your hard earned, or hard saved, money.

Benefit Products Worth the Money

I love Benefit's highlighters. I received High Beam and Moon Beam as gifts on two different birthdays a couple of years ago and they are lasting me magnificently. They're products I would always recommend and which I use every single week. They have a  liquid consistency and they dry very quickly which can make them difficult to work with, however, it does mean that they sort of stain the face giving them incredible lasting power. I also got my hands on Sun Beam when it was being given away as a magazine freebie and it lives up to the high standards set by Benefit's other liquid highlighting products, it's perfect if you like a more bronzed look. Moon Beam is no longer available but High Beam and Sun Beam are available for £19.50 and they will honestly last you years even if you use them daily. (If you're interested in seeing swatches of these side by side you can see them in a old post I wrote here.)

The famous tint from Benefit is undoubtedly Benetint and in my youth I owned it, loved it and then dropped it on the floor causing it to smash (and I cried). Since that fateful day I've come to try the other to two tints that Benefit offer in the form of sample sizes, Cha Cha Tint and Posie Tint. I actually prefer the thicker formula of these two compared to Benetint (which is positively watery in consistency). Both do a great job of staining both the cheeks and lips and both last a stupendously long time, even with daily use. The colours are pretty fool proof but the application is a little bit more difficult so these are perhaps not great for first time make-up users. However, I love them both and eventually I'll be purchasing them full size (but honestly, samples this size last ages). All of Benefit's cheek and lip tints are available here for £24.50. This is a lot of money but I definitely think that they're good investment pieces. (If you're interested in comparative swatches of Benefit's lip and cheek tints you can check out the post where I swatched them all here.)

Benefit's The PoreFessional entered my life in a beauty box that I purchased and it was a great way to see if the product worked for my difficult (sensitive and combination) skin. In short, it does (full review here) and not only does it work but I really like it. It does indeed minimise pores but it also helps my make-up last, even on my oily t-zone. This extra lasting power is great if you don't like touching up your make-up or live somewhere warm. Given how long this sample size is lasting me a full size product would definitely last long enough to justify the price. If I can't get my hands on any more samples I'm going to politely request this for Christmas off any of my family and friends who will listen to me. Available for £24.50.

Benefit Products Worth the Money

Benefit's boxed blushes are perhaps the Benefit products most worth trying. I've worked myself through two boxes of Benefit's '10' bronzing and highlighting duo which was my favourite product ever from the ages of sixteen until, um, well, today! I recently picked up Dallas with my accumulated Boots Advantage Card points (a thoroughly worthwhile way to spend them) and quite frankly I love it. The colour is perfect for pale skin and it wears incredibly well throughout the day. I think these boxed blushes make fail proof gifts because all the colours are very wearable and they're going to last the person who uses them for approximately two years (that's how long each of my boxes of 10 lasted me) if they're used daily - and longer if they aren't used that often. Buy them for yourself or for others, they're fabulous and are worth investing in. Available for £24.50.

Benefit Products Worth the Money

Okay now, this is the only one of my choices that is perhaps based more on "my opinion" than fact. Mascaras last up to six months so they're not usually something worth investing a lot of money in because from the outset you know you're going to have to bin them before you'd have to throw most of your other make-up away. Solution: buy the travel sized They're Real mascara for less money. I've been using this travel size version of They're Real for a couple of months now and I don't think I'll even finish it before it expires. They're Real is a super long wearing mascara that makes eyes pop. It is intensely black and does a great job at adding length and volume. It isn't universally loved and it is definitely a challenge to remove but I personally adore it and I think that it's worth the price tag, and definitely so if you can find a way to purchase the travel sized version. The full size is £19.50 and I think you can buy the travel size for £9 from Benefit counters.

I'd also like to reassure you that I haven't included every single Benefit product that I've ever tried in this post. I see people doing that sometimes (naming favorites when really they're just bunching together everything they own) so I thought I'd reassure you that I've tried many of Benefit's other products and they just didn't make the final cut. My final choices are what I consider to be great Benefit staples and are, in my opinion, thoroughly worth a try.

  7. I love benefit, they are SO worth the money. Had the same hoola bronzer for about two years now using it daily, and I just bought lemonaid as concealer the other day.
I love how you've factored cost into buying them because they are expensive but definitely worth saving for if you don't come across samples!

  8. Excellent post. I love Posietint and I am looking forward to adding Cha-cha tint to my collection around Christmas time! My ALL TIME favourite would have to be Dandelion Blush. I use it daily over Posietint. Just awesome :)
