Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap: An Essential Repurchase

I featured a pretty rave review of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap in Green Tea* towards the end of October last year. Well, I've just finished that original little bottle and I've replaced it with a much larger bottle of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap in Almond - which, as you can imagine, has a lovely sweet scent.

 I was really surprised by how long the small 59ml bottle lasted me as since I discovered Dr Bronner's Magic Soap I haven't used anything else to wash my makeup brushes - it has become an absolute staple in my beauty routine. Not only do I find it infinitely easier and quicker to use than baby shampoo (which I used previously) but it's also far less wasteful as you don't need very much Magic Soap to get perfectly clean brushes. It does have other uses - you can use it as hand soap or as shower gel - but for me personally it's main job is to get that weekly brush cleanse over and done with as speedily as possible!

There are lots of products that I use fairly regularly that don't get enough mention on my blog and Dr. Bronners' Magic Soap is definitely one of them. If you're looking for a new brush cleanser - or a fair-trade and organic body cleanser - then I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. Love Lula December Beauty Box Review

I received my December LoveLula Beauty Box over the weekend and I couldn't have been happier with the contents! LoveLula is a monthly beauty subscription (£12.50 per month inc. postage) service featuring natural and cruelty free beauty products. This month's box featured some really lovely brands, and I was particularly happy to see a bottle of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap - a product that I already absolutely love. I was also really happy to see some Joik products in the box as they're a brand that I've been really keen to try for the longest time. The Salcura Hand Hydrator is another lovely inclusion, although I've seen so many beauty subscription boxes featuring hand creams so I have quite a few to get through now. Lastly, there were also two FairSquared Lip Balms in the box, I didn't love the Pomegranate scent but I adore the smell of Spearmint so I can't wait to try that out. Overall, I'm really happy with all the brands included in the box and I feel as though there was a great range of products too. As per usual, LoveLula has really impressed me and I'm already looking forward to January's box!

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap in Green Tea

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap* is one of those hyped products that I've put off trying because everyone talked about it all the time. This might seem silly but it comes from a place of sanity. I usually a) don't like talking about the same things as everyone else when they're talking about them and b) sometimes I just can't believe the hype. I remember when Bioderma hit the scene and beauty fanatics raved about it. All I could think for months was "why is everyone going so mad about bottles of water?". Inevitably I caved and I will be the first to admit that in the case of Bioderma I had judged the book by it's cover and had gone months without the wonder of miceller goodness. Well, to my pleasant surprise, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap* is another one of those products that well deserves the chatter that surrounds it. I picked mine up at the #BloggersTeaParty in the Green Tea scent (which I chose for myself, although it was a very close call between Green Tea and Almond) and not only does it smell amazing and not at all fake and perfumey but it does a blooming brilliant job of cleaning my makeup brushes! It does it in about half the time, using 1/3 of the amount of product, as baby shampoo (which I've been using for years) and now I just can't imagine going back.

Other than using less product and saving me time there are a whole host of other reasons to switch to Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap*. Not only is it a cruelty free product but it is also suitable for vegans, meaning that it doesn't contain any animal products or by-products. The brand also has a fair trade and eco friendly ethos, with all the packaging being made out of recycled plastic. If a product works then that's one thing, but a product that works from a brand with strong ethical values that makes it suitable for all (or nearly all) beauty junkies is another thing altogether - and I think it probably explains Dr. Bronner's success and subsequent good reputation. I'm going to be investing in a big bottle of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap* when my small bottle comes to an end (although I can see it conceivably lasting me a couple of months if I reserve it for my brushes).
