Mid-Month September Empties

In case you didn't already know, on Monday 16th I moved from London back up to Leeds to begin my MA. Due to my inability to organise myself properly, I had to take all of my belongings up to Leeds on the train. It was stressful to say the least and I couldn't lug anything more than I absolutely needed to. This meant that I had to say goodbye to all the empties I'd been hoarding (and to all the products that were very very nearly empty). So today's post is my Mid-Month September Empties and this will take the place of my usual Empties post which I normally put up in the last few days of the month. It's a long'un...

Elemental Herbology Facial Glow Raidiance Peel
This is a gem. A star. A wonderful, wonderful product. If you're interested in it you should read my full review here. If I could afford to I would hop, skip and run out and pick one up as soon as I could!

Elemental Herbology Facial Souffle
This is a super intensive hydrating night cream and I think it is fantastic for dry or dehydrated skin. I personally didn't love the scent of it though so wouldn't be keen to use it again. Read full review here.

Elemental Herbology Cell Plumping Facial Hydrator SPF8
The scent! Holy moly, it is a super intense version of the night cream and it is too bad for me to ever want to reach for it again. This is a very effective product, although I think having an SPF of 8 is a little silly. Read full review here.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser
Hello Holy Grail primer. If you didn't know I love, love, love this product from the Body Shop. It's cheap (£7.50) and lasts for months! This is my second tube and I already had another one in my stash which I've moved on to. This is great for combination skinned girls or those with oily skin. Read my full review here.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream
I'm very ambivalent about this eye cream, it does the job but it doesn't help much with my dark circles. I won't be repurchasing it but I wasn't unhappy with the job it did so I was happy to have tried it. Read my full review here.

Ren Gylcoactive Radiance Renewal Mask
I absolutely cannot stand the smell of this stuff. It smells like marmalade gone bad. But the beauty world loves this face mask, and I can see why. It does a great job at brightening up skin and is very effective without being too harsh. I would recommend it to others but I personally hate how this smells and for me scent is such an important part of enjoying a product.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Formula Hair Serum
This is fantastic stuff. Easily available, very affordable and incredibly effective. If you suffer from frizz or flyaways then I'd definitely recommend giving this serum a try. When my spending ban ends I'm going to be picking up a big bottle. Read my full review here.

Lee Stafford Dehumidifer Poker Straight
This is great for hot weather or nights when you're going out to a bar or club. Any heat or humidity and my hair starts going a little crazy, this hair spray is really light hold (so you won't feel it) but it does keep my hair tamed throughout the night. I've bought this before and would again. Read my full review here.

L'Occitane Ultra Rich Body Lotion
I loved this body lotion. L'Occitane make some of my favourite beauty products and they did not fail me with this one! I have another bottle of this in my collection (which was a gift, as the one I finished was) and I'm looking forward to using it. Read my full review here.

Weleda Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion
I used to have a full on love affair with this cleanser, and I still adore it but I think my skin is in need of a more intense cleanse. This soothing cleanser smells sort of like almonds (more like baked goods) and offers a really gentle cleanse that is great for very sensitive skin or those prone to redness. I love it and I'll definitely use it again but I'm trialling out some new products at the moment so won't repurchase it for a while.

The Body Shop Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover
I loved the liquid version of the Body Shop's Chamomile range (review here) but this product is very creamy and as much as I think it did a good job I think the liquid version was more effective. I would consider repurchasing it but I'm very keen to repurchasing some Bioderma in the meantime.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
I didn't manage to finish this tiny bottle of shower gel. I received this as a gift last christmas and really enjoyed the scent of it but it was utterly neglected. The bottle wasn't going to last my journey back to Leeds so I had to sadly abandon it before it's time. I don't think I'll buy another bottle this as I have a lot of shower gel to get through.

That's it for this month's empties but I'm sure by the end of October I will have finished up even more! It feels good to get through some of my massive beauty horde but it's also sad to say goodbye to some much loved products.

Have you used up any of your favourite beauty products lately?

  1. Love the sound of all the body shop products.
The Elemental Herbology Facial Glow Radiance Peel sounds amazing too, but I wouldn't pay the money on it myself. Maybe I'll add it to my Christmas list? (Yes, I'm already thinking of Christmas gifts haha).

  2. You have so many empties! I'm just impressed. It's actually really hard to use up multiple products, well for me it is. I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to using up my skincare items. and forget about makeup. That takes me even longer to use up, with the exception of face products. Great post!

  4. I don't know how you get through so many products! I wish I could afford the EH peel, it's such a fab little product (and it was your fault I ordered a sample anyway!) xx
