The Body Shop's Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream has been a daily staple of mine for two months now. I only use this on my t-zone as after about a week of using this all over my face I realised that it just wasn't helping my cheeks as they do tend towards being dry. So I'd definitely recommend only using this on your t-zone if you've got combination skin and then using a different moisturiser on your cheeks. If you have oily skin all over your face then this would work perfectly all over. But you know, you should just see how you go and then adjust depending on your skin's needs, we're all different at the end of the day.
The product itself is a gel moisturiser which doesn't have a strong scent and goes onto the skin feeling a lot like a wet jelly (normal people would just stick to the description of 'gel'). It's actually quite a refreshing thing to apply in the morning and although it applies feeling quite wet it totally absorbs into the skin and it does so very quickly. Using this on my t-zone daily has really helped keep my oily skin in check. I used to see my skin getting quite oily by 11am/12pm but since I started using this there have been many days when I haven't seen excess oil until the evening and on my oilier days it has been still been more like 2pm/3pm. This moisturiser obviously isn't a perfect solution but using it has shown an incredible improvement and I'm really pleased with it.
What is especially good is that this moisturiser is very budget friendly, it's full RRP is £10 but the Body Shop put on offers so often that you're almost certainly going to be able to get your hands on it for less. This moisturiser set me back £5 and I still have about a fifth of if left to use up, in my books that is good value. This product has been a success for my skin and I would highly recommend trying it out if you have oily or combination skin. I wouldn't expect miracles from it but I would be confident in saying that this will be a helpful addition to your skin care regime.
I'm going to be testing out L'Occitane's Angelica Ultra Mattifying Fluid next to see if a more expensive product really does offer better results. But for now I'm really happy with the results of the Body Shop's Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream (especially as now that I'm wearing base products again I've noticed that my make-up is lasting better than it used to).

Do you have any product recommendations for those with oily/combination skin?
This sounds really good, I have oily skin on my cheeks as well so I don't think that would be as big a problem for me :) x
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a nice product.. especially when they have offers on most of the time too :) xx

Ooh I absolutely love this, it's one of my staples too! I'm pretty much oily everywhere and having an oily face makes me tend to avoid moisturisers, but this one was the answer to all my troubles! :D xx
