If you follow One Little Vice on Instagram then you'll have noticed that I've started to regularly post the beauty products I reach for on a day-to-day basis. It's been fun to share which products and brands I reach for most often, but it's brought to my attention that I really do prefer beauty products that are quick and easy to use. I'm not someone who'll spend ages blending powder eyeshadows every single day, and more often than not I prefer cream everything - I even opt for a mattifying balm over a powder! Today's post is a celebration of some of my favourite products that help make getting ready as effortless as possible, because taking less time doing your makeup doesn't mean that you have compromise on how you look.
Balance Me BB Natural Perfection with SPF 25* | rrp £26.00
& ESPA Naturally Radiant Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 in 01 Nude* | rrp £32.00
Let's start with two of my favourite base products, both of which offer light, sheer and radiant coverage that looks best when applied with your fingers or a makeup sponge. Balance Me's BB Natural Perfection will quickly and effortlessly transform your skin from dull or dry into a glowing picture of health. It doesn't offer a lot of coverage but it does absolute miracles when it comes to making your skin look youthful, healthy and radiant. It's a great quick fix for lazy days when you just want to look a little bit more "done up". When I want a little bit more coverage I usually opt for ESPA's Naturally Radiant Tinted Moisturiser which helps to even out the appearance of my complexion whilst adding a healthy dose of glow. Both of these products won't be the best for those with oily skin, but on my combination skin (and on anyone with normal or even dry skin) they'll make an incredible difference to the appearance of your skin. Just add a touch of mattifying powder or balm where you need it most and embrace lighter, fresher makeup.
Seventeen Stay Time Concealer in Fair | rrp £4.49
& Vichy Dermablend Stick Foundation in Opal* | rrp £15.00
As my favoured makeup bases don't offer a lot of coverage I do like to follow up with a concealer. I have blemishes, dark circles and some broken veins than I cover up daily, and these are two great concealers to reach for depending on the coverage you're looking for. Seventeen's Stay Time Concealer offers light-medium coverage in a very creamy and blendable formula. Whilst Vichy's Dermablend Stick Foundation is much thicker with very high coverage and works best when applied lightly and then really blended into skin with a brush. I really like both of these but Vichy's Dermablend is probably my preferred choice for when I want really reliable long-lasting coverage.
Wild About Beauty Mattifying Balm* | rrp £21.00
In case you didn't already know, my skin is very sensitive to the ingredient Talc which is found in many/most powder makeup products. I do sometimes make exceptions, but when it comes to everyday make-up, for the sake of my skin, I try and steer clear of powder products. Wild About Beauty's Mattifying Balm is a wonderful alternative, and I think that it actually gives a more natural looking finish. I apply this with a flat makeup sponge (that you can store inside the tub) and usually only apply it across my t-zone. I find that it makes a big difference to the appearance of my skin throughout the day - but the best part is that it's quick to apply and is easy to touch-up throughout the day.
Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color in Gilt* | rrp £24.00
& Glo & Ray Mirage Mousse Eyeshadow in Caramel Candy* | rrp £11.00
Although I don't often wear powder eyeshadow I do like to reach for cream products and I do normally wear something on my lids every day. Nudestix's Magnetic Eye Color in Gilt is a really pretty sheer gold shade that's quick and effortless to apply, blends really easily and doesn't budge once it's set. It's a very wearable colour that will suit many different complexions and I'm seriously considering buying some more shades from their range. My other choice is Glo & Ray's Mirage Mousse Eyeshadow in Caramel Candy, it's similar to Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze but this shade is actually better for everyday wear. Caramel Candy applies quite sheerly but can be easily built up even with your fingers and it really compliments my blue eyes. The formula is much lighter and more comfortable than the Colour Tattoos and I definitely find it easier to work with when I'm in a hurry.
This is hands down one of my favourite everyday mascaras - it offers great length and volume, and it doesn't budge all day. I didn't have super high expectations of an all natural mascara but this is a fantastic option if you want an all-rounder with a great brush. I'll definitely repurchase this once I'm through the other mascaras lurking in my beauty stash.
Wild About Beauty Nutrilips Balm in Hannah* | rrp £14.00
& Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus* | rrp £5.99
It was really hard to narrow down my favourite quick and easy everyday lip products because it often depends on my mood! But I thought that instead of going for specific shades I'd share two of my favourite formulas, and they both happen to be sheer and hydrating balms. Wild About Beauty's Nutrilips in the shade Hannah was one of my most worn lip products last winter, I just couldn't get enough of it. The colour is really lovely and the formula melts into my lips offering a nourishing dose of shine that's surprisingly long-lasting. In contrast, Burt's Bees is a new addition to my beauty bag but I love the sheer and glossy formula. The stick packaging makes it easier to use on-the-go and a bit quicker to apply but the product is slightly less long lasting on my lips. These are both fabulous choices and I'd highly recommend them.
What did you think of my makeup picks? Have you tried any of these products? What makeup do you reach for when you want something quick and easy?

I've been eyeing up the Vichy products for a while, I need something strong to cover my redness! Will have to try them out xx
ReplyDeleteLike the sound of the Green People mascara. As you say an all natural mascara makes you feel that perhaps it won't work as well - great that it did.

I never heard those brands, but they seems really great!

The lightest shade of the Dermablend stick is too dark and orange toned for me and I just can't get it to work with my skin :-( xx
