Glo & Ray is a new beauty brand that you need to know about. I discovered the brand at the end of last year and since then they've consistently impressed me. Whether you're after party makeup, beautiful lipsticks or the best budget eyebrow pencil I've ever come across, Glo & Ray are going to have something that will get you excited. Ever since I first tried them I've held a special place in my heart for Glo & Ray's Lipsticks, but today I'm venturing out of my comfort zone and trying some entirely new Glo & Ray makeup - and it involves a healthy dose of purple!
Glo & Ray's Mariposa Quartet Eye Shadow in Violet Emotion* | rrp £12.50
Purple eyeshadow is so far out of my comfort zone that I almost didn't know what to do with Glo & Ray's Mariposa Quartet Eye Shadow Palette in Violet Emotion. However, I was really reassured when I applied the brighter purple and silver shadows to my eyelid where they gave a sheer wash of colour that was noticeable but not overpowering. Usually I like pigmented eyeshadows, but when it comes to colour I think that lighter, sheerer formulations are so much more wearable! Although these shades are sheer when applied dry they still have an excellent consistency, applying smoothly and evenly and lasting very well on my eyelids. When I use an eye primer they do look slightly more pigmented, but for maximum impact you'd be best off applying these wet. Personally, I'm more than happy with the quality, consistency and finished look that they give - and I think I might actually have been convinced to rock colour on my eyelids this summer!

Glo & Ray's Skybreaker Long Lasting Silky Eyeliners are so beautiful to use. They enjoy a rich, creamy texture that's really easy to apply but also very long-lasting. I'm not usually someone who'll wear colour on their eyes but I received so many compliments when I wore the shade Orchid on my lower lash-line. Coupled with paired back makeup, the pop of colour that it offers is incredibly fun and fresh whilst still remaining subtle. I think that colour works better when my skin is a little bit more tanned, so in the summer I can definitely see myself reaching for this when I want an easy and quick way of jazzing up my makeup-up. I'm totally converted to the shade and I think Glo & Ray's eyeliners are a real bargain.
Glo & Ray Color Correction Tinted Makeup Base* | rrp £12.00
I didn't know what to expect from Glo & Ray's Colour Correction Tinted Makeup Base because when it comes out of the tube it's quite a stark white cream. When you blend it into your skin it does sheer-out into a more wearable product, but you can see from my before and after pictures that although it does offer coverage and colour-correction it also leaves my skin looking noticeable paler. The formulation of the CC Cream is really nice and it's incredibly easy to blend with a great hydrating finish. It does make a noticeable difference to the appearance of the redness in my skin, but I'd have to follow-up with a darker foundation to keep my skin from looking washed out. As a base under make-up it works quite well, although it does affect the way that the colour of my foundation looks against my skin. Personally, as someone who prefers a light face of makeup, I'd prefer if this CC Cream was available in a range of skin toned shades that allowed me to wear it alone as I like the sheer coverage and colour-correction that it offers.

As always, I've found that Glo & Ray's makeup is really great quality and good value for money. I think my favourite new discovery is definitely Glo & Ray's Skybreaker Eyeliner and I'd definitely like to try more shades in the future. All of their products are available online (link here) and I really do highly recommend them - I'm yet to be disappointed by anything I've tried.
The purple eyeshadows are right up my street and the look that you created is lovely. Great post :)

According to my opinion purple shade is nice option that can be used both as formal and party makeup as per the need.
