Kiko's Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks have been everywhere lately. Ever since Kiko came to the UK I've seen people rave about these eyeshadows - but when I first tried them they really, really didn't impress me. I bought a matte taupe shade a year or two ago and I didn't get along with it at all. I found it creased, transferred etc. and it just did not work for me. Since then I've steered clear of Kiko almost completely, but recently I started to think that I must be missing something. When everyone loves a brand you start to think that there must be something to it. So I visited Kiko's Regent Street Store and started having a browse. I found at least ten things that I'd have liked to take home - the cream highlighters are notably lust-worthy - but I settled for a new Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in the shade Burgundy (37), I thought that I'd give them a second chance.
Kiko's Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in Burgundy is an incredibly beautiful burnt red shade, and the formula of the eyeshadows is really creamy and totally opaque in just one swipe. It takes a little while for the eyeshadow to set (longer than Maybelline's Colour Tattoos), but once it finally does then the product really doesn't budge. The lasting power of the Eyeshadow Sticks was so much better than I remembered and even without a primer they stuck around pretty well. However, when I coupled them with my trust Urban Decay Primer Potion I was pretty darn happy with the result. I don't know if I got my hands on a dud product the last time around or if the formula of the Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks has been improved, but I can't deny how much better they are than I'd remembered. The shade Burgundy won't necessarily be to everyone's tastes but if you're trying to achieve the very "on trend" red eyeshadow look then it's a great shade to choose.
