Konjac Vegetable Fibre Angel Face Cloth Review

one little vice beauty blog: natural facial sponge

Konjac is a natural and sustainable materia made from the Konjac Potato, found in Asia where it grows wild at high altitudes. It's a material that's been used for 1,500 years in China, Korea and Japan, where it is highly prized for its health giving benefits. The Konjac Sponge Co. use Konjac that's free from chemicals, that's 100% biodegradable and sustainable and that's made by hand into sponges. The Konjac Sponge Co. sponges carry the Leaping Bunny and Vegan Society certificates, so you know when you buy one that you're supporting natural and cruelty-free products.  I've been using their Konjac sponges for a couple of years (I repurchase them approximately once every three months) now and I've been consistently impressed with how they both gently and effectively cleanse my skin.

The Konjac Vegetable Fibre Angel Face Cloth* is a fun new release that I spotted last month on MyPure, a natural and cruelty free beauty website. In essence, it's the same Konjac Sponge that I've grown accustomed to but in a handy new shape. It's perfect for anyone looking to replace their muslin cloths with something a little gentler on the skin!

I've been using the Angel Face Cloth* for about three weeks now and I can confirm that it's one of those unassuming beauty additions that has quickly become a staple in my routine. When your ecieve the cloth it looks a bit like a prawn cracker, but when you place it under some water it transforms into a plump, soft sheet. It's great for quickly and gently cleansing the skin - much quicker than the original sponges as it has a greater surface area - and it's also amazing for removing face masks. Priced at £11.99, it does cost more than the original sponges (which are priced at £7.99 - 8.99) but I really love how functional it is and would definitely repurchase it at this price - and I would also highly recommend it. I've already converted one of my best friends to the sponges and I bet he'll be heading out to try one of these soon, and I'll be encouraging him!

Have you tried anything from the Konjac Sponge Co. before?

  2. I've tried a couple of the sponges and really liked them, this does look much more convenient though! Are they washable? I'd be a bit concerned about the hygiene as I wash my muslin cloths daily...
