REVIEW: B. Sheer Lipsticks in Tulip and Jam

The new B. range launched in Superdrug quite recently and is advertised as a premium make-up and skin care range. What initially interested me about this range was that it was cruelty free and also that they had as part of their line sheer lipsticks. After falling in love with the L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks I really am on a bit of a sheer lipstick rampage at the moment, if there's a sheer lipstick to try I'm going try and get my hands on it! B. sheer lipsticks also happen to contain Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Aloe Vera so not only did they potentially offer gorgeous sheer lip colour, but also nourished and soft lips. Because there was a buy one get one half price offer on (which is still running) I picked up two of the Sheer Lipsticks in 'Tulip' and 'Jam' (recently re-named on the Superdrug website as 'Raspberry Jam').

I absolutely love the quality and feel of these lipsticks on my lips. They do feel very soft and nourishing, and a little bit on the buttery side (more so than the Rouge Caresse Lipsticks). I dare say they may be quite similar to the Revlon Lip Butters, although I never tried them myself. My only complaint is that they aren't as sheer as I would of liked and they don't go on evenly despite gliding across lips. 'Jam' is a gorgeous shade, very wearable for me as I love dark pinks. 'Tulip' on the other hand is quite an orange red, unlike anything I currently own. I don't hate it, it actually looks very nice on me, but it is a lot thicker than 'Jam' and being a red shade the fact that it isn't as sheer makes it a little bit more difficult to wear. Basically, I found that you have to be careful applying a shade like 'Tulip' in a way that I found I just didn't need to be with 'Jam'. All in all, I love the product although it isn't as sheer as I would have liked, but the result and feel of it is very nice as it feels moisturising and the range offers some lovely colours.

My only other gripe is to do with the packaging which feels a little bit cheap given the cost of these product. However, it has proved sturdy enough to survive many days out in my handbag so even though this is something I personally dislike don't worry about the lipsticks being flimsy as they certainly aren't. You can find these sheer lipsticks in Superdrug for £6.99.

Have you tried any of the B. range? Or do you have any sheer lipstick recommendations?
