Review: Vichy Normaderm Micellar Solution

Vichy's Normaderm Micellar Solution* was sent to me as part of Sophia's #MyLittleSkincareProject and I used it for weeks upon weeks until, finally, I'd used it all up. Until I'd finished it, I didn't quite realise how much I had enjoyed using this micellar water. It is paraben, alcohol and fragrance free (which is great for me as I have quite sensitive skin), and it contains zinc which has antibacterial purifying properties and is especially good for skin on the oilier end of the spectrum as the zinc helps normalize excess sebum. It is advertised as having a formula aimed towards imperfection prone sensitive skin and on reflection it really is a product that is perfect for my skin type (I have combination skin - oily t-zone and dry, sensitive cheeks).

I used this every evening to remove my make-up as well as in the morning to cleanse my skin. I found that it melted make-up away without any hassle (as good as, if not better than, any other micellar water I've tried) and it didn't sting my eyes or irritate my skin. The 200ml bottle lasted me just over six weeks, although I think it could have lasted me longer if I had been a little more restrained in the way I used it! A quick squeeze of the solution onto a large cotton pad and my make-up would be gone within a minute or two. I really don't have anything negative to say about Vichy's Normaderm Micellar Solution*, it worked really well for me and I am certain that it helped keep my skin clearer whilst I was using it.

This was the first Vichy skincare product that I've tried but I've been really impressed with the quality of it and am now very keen to try out some other Vichy products. If you have a similar skin type to me then I'd highly recommend Vichy's Normaderm Micellar Solution* but I think it would work just as well for anyone who suffers from blemishes or oily skin. You can find this Micellar Solution in Boots for £10.50, and I think the way this product performs certainly justifies its price.

What do you use to take off your make up? Have you tried any Vichy products before?

  1. I like to use micellar waters in the morning, but I won't completely replace other cleansers with one - I like the feeling of a good scrub far too much :o). Xx

    1. I like to use them in the morning too but I also find them an essential part of my evening routine as I use them to remove make-up/for my first cleanse and then I'll follow this up with a second cleanser :) xx

  2. I've only ever tried Bioderma but I reckon they all must be basically the same! The Vichy Idealia Day Cream is great so I'd like to try more from them :) xx

    1. I can say that they're not all identical but they are similar. I think Vichy's Noraderm Micellar Solution is aimed at those with blemished/oily skin more so than Bioderma. Also, I'm now trialling the L'Oreal Micellar Water and I think that's quite different from both the Vichy and Bioderma xx

    1. I think Vichy is definitely a brand to look into! Bioderma is great but sometimes I think its hype means that other great products can get ignored xx

    1. The price is comparable to other 'higher end' micellar waters but it can feel like a lot to pay for what looks like water. Keep an eye out for offers, but I think that if you do ever get it you won't be disappointed! It's hard to find good products for sensitive, blemish prone skin xx

  5. I like to use a micellar water as the first stage of my cleanse, partly because it's so satisfying seeing the makeup come off onto my cotton pad ...I use a vichy toner at the moment, although I haven't used it for long enough to form an opinion yet, I'm liking it so far!

  6. I really like the sound of this! My skin type sounds pretty similar to yours. At the moment I'm using the L'Oreal one, which is the only one I've tried, so it would be nice to compare them! xx
