I have mainly used the Body Shop's Tea Tree Pore Minimiser alongside the Body Shop's Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream to try and help keep my skin oil free during the day. I've been using these two products together now for about six weeks so I feel as though I can give a very full summary of how its worked for me.

During my No-Foundation Challenge I only used this on my t-zone and applied it after my moisturiser had completely been absorbed. It worked brilliantly alongside the Body Shop's Seaweed Day Cream and as a pair they worked fantastically at keeping excess oil at bay throughout the day. The formula of the Tea Tree Pore Minimiser feels very mattifying and I have used it without the Seaweed Day Cream (on days when I couldn't find the Seaweed Day Cream or used something else) and even alone it does do a great job at keeping the skin matte.

Since my challenge has ended I've used this as a primer and have tried using it all over my face. I found that it did a good job of keeping my make-up in place for longer and it is when it is used as a primer that it's pore minimising promises come into effect. I have quite large pores around my nose as well as on my forehead which I always make an effort of hiding and this really help keeps make-up out of them. It did also help my blush last well (compared to when I wore it without primer), however, because I have combination skin my cheeks do tend to be dry. The Tea Tree Pore Minimiser really doesn't do anything for dry skin, on me it really emphasised dry patches and didn't leave the skin on my cheeks feeling that comfortable. I personally wouldn't choose to use this all over my face if like me you suffer from combination skin, and if you have dry skin I would suggest trying a different product altogether. However, that is just my personal recommendation and if you are still keen to see how it fares on your skin I'd just definitely recommend trying this out in store first.

Overall, I enjoyed using this product as I felt it really did help reduce the oiliness of my t-zone and on me it definitely helped improve the appearance of my pores when used as a primer under foundation. If you suffer from oily skin I'd definitely suggest using this in conjunction with the Body Shop's Seaweed Day Cream (link to my review) and the Body Shop's Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment (link to my review)  as I found it to be a brilliant combination! The Body Shop's Tea Tree Pore Minimiser is available in Body Shop stores and online for £7.50.

[UPDATE: May 2013]
I used this product for a total of four months, daily. That's how long it lasted me! I absolutely loved it and would still highly recommend it, especially as it turned out to be such great value. I also really loved the two Seaweed Body Shop products which I used in conjunction with the pore minimiser, each of which each lasted about three months- I've included links to them in the above paragraph.

  1. This sounded like the perfect product for me and my horrible pores until you mentioned about the dry skin problems. I have dry skin patches that are a nightmare.. so i'll stay away from this one :) xx

  6. I am disappointed to hear that it isn't very good for dry skin, as mine is dry and after hearing so many good things about it I was looking forward to trying it. Everyone else who has reviewed it has had oily skin though, so it is lucky that I seen this.

Picked your blog up from the #bblogger chat.

  8. I love this stuff! It does such a good job of hiding my monster pores :)
My skin is very oily though, so I don't have the problem of it accentuating dry areas.

  13. I've been checking this out at the Body Shop store here since forever but never bought it. I've tried a couple of pore minimizing products that didn't do what it promised to do and I just gave up. I'm not to sue I'd like to try a different one again, but if ever I will, this will be it!. Thanks for sharing your review. :)
