September Beauty Favourites

September has been a whirlwind month for me. I've been abroad, moved across the country, begun postgraduate study and have been really busy trying to keep up with work whilst making new friends. That being said, no month is so much of a whirlwind that I won't have been bearing make-up and skincare in mind. This month's favourites are relative paired down compared to normal, I'm just going to share the five products that I've reached for the most this month and tell you why I've kept going back to them.

I'm very keen to write a full review on this day cream as I really do think that it is an incredible product. On The Body Shop's website the reviews of this product are really quite negative and this genuinely surprised me. The Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion is a medium-thick lotion, much heavier in nature than the gel formula Seaweed Day Cream which I've previously reviewed. However, I find that this thicker consistency makes it perfect for combination skin as it isn't as drying on less oily areas of the face. All I would say is that it is essential that you let the moisturiser really sink into your skin before applying make-up. It does need a little bit more time than gel based moisturers but if you give it that time it does completely absorb and sort of sets your skin, and (if you suffer from combination skin) leaves it a much more even base. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but I would definitely recommend it and will be writing up a full review shortly.

I am incredibly fickle when it comes to hair styling products but I'm glad I am because otherwise I would never have gotten around to trying this hairspray. It offers incredible hold for something so 'invisible' to the touch and it lasts really well in my hair. I've been curling my hair a lot this last month (looking pretty helps make new friends, right?) and I used this hairspray a lot (I've actually finished it). It is completely worth the money and after my spending ban I'd like to invest in a large bottle, if you haven't already tried it I'd definitely recommend the Normal Strength variety.

L'Occitane Rose Petals Hand Cream (RRP £8 or £3.90 with Marie Claire)
L'Occitane make some of my favourite hand creams and I get through numerous tubes a year. I wanted to include this because I haven't mentioned it in a while but also because this month's Marie Claire's gift with purchase is a L'Occitane hand cream, so if you like them too or you've been dying to try them out then that is a great way to stock up on them.

This was a product that I have been sent to trial and review and I was initially a little bit hesitant about because I've had mixed feelings about spot treatments in the past. To cut to the point, it is amazing. I am going to rave about this little beauty sometime soon but for now I'd like to reassure you if you've been thinking about purchasing it - it is not just effective, it is super effective.

Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour in Mulberry (RRP £8.16*)(won as part of a competition prize)
Annoyingly, upon closer inspection, it seems as though this shade is no longer available for purchase. The colour is gorgeous for autumn/winter, however, my enjoyment of the product has a lot more to do with its consistency and moisturizing qualities - which I know are just as good throughout the entire range of Lip Ointments with Colour. I've worn this a lot because I like having colour on my lips but I've needed something really moisturising because both the weather and central heating have been playing havoc with my lips and skin. I'm really impressed with Lanolips and feel very lucky that I won so many of their products - I think that if I hadn't I would have really overlooked the brand which would be doing their products a great disservice.

So those were my beauty favourites this month, I'm hoping to trial some new make-up over this month so hopefully I'll find some new make-up favourites to talk about next month! I always worry about not talking about enough make-up in these posts but I find it a lot harder to find make-up that I've fallen in love with than other products. Here's hoping I discover some gems over the next month!

What have been some of your beauty favourites this month? Have you ever tried any of the products I mentioned in this post?
