Since I've been on a spending ban for the whole of August my favourites this month are items which I've either had for a while and have been long-time loves or they're products that I've finally gotten around to using. Either way, everything I'm going to talk about today deserves a lot of love and attention and I'd highly recommend everything!
Essie Nail Polishes in RoseBowl and Orange It's Obvious
I've featured both RoseBowl and Orange It's Obvious in posts over the last six weeks or so. Now, I'm not usually a huge advocate of Essie polishes - they chip on me pretty quickly. However, these two colours are really rather wonderful. They're bright without being too over the top and the brush and formulation of the polishes allows for a really beautiful finish. Despite these not lasting all that long on my nails I do reach for these two colours quite often and I think I'll still be wearing these two shades into the winter whenever I want a pop of colour.
Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara
This month I've been opting for brown mascara and the one I've been using almost every single day is Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara. Although the missing 'e' in its name annoys me endlessly, the formula and brush of this mascara is really very good. It hasn't flaked at all or given me panda eyes and the brown shade has actually been very flattering as throughout August I haven't been wearing s much make-up as I normally would I reviewed this mascara in full here and it's one I'd definitely recommend giving a try!
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Clay Mask
This month my Super Facialist Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask was finally all used up and I began more than ever to use my Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Clay Mask. Before August I'd saved this mask for 'special occasions' and hadn't used it very regularly. However, this month I've been using it at least every week, and more often than not twice a week. I love this face mask and I think it really does a wonderful job at deep cleansing my pores. I'm definitely a face mask sort of girl and they play a big part in my skin care routine! You can read my full review of Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Clay Mask here, I'd definitely say it's worth a try.
Antipodes Divine Face Oil
I have to admit that I am sort of plowing through this face oil. I've owned it for just over eight weeks now and I'm definitely half way through this bottle. It's quite an indulgent skincare product (in terms of cost) but it does instantly make my skin look and feel softer and plumper. It is a must-have for anyone with dry or dehydrated skin and it is especially good on days when perhaps you haven't slept so well or if you're hungover because it just revitalises your skin as it is absorbed. I'm really enjoying using Antipodes Divine Face Oil and if you're interested in it you can read my full review here.
Benefit's The PoreFessional Primer
Although I haven't been wearing a lot of make-up this month I have been wearing a BB cream or foundation every day and in London's heat and humidity I've needed to use a primer to keep my make-up in place. Benefit's The PoreFessional has been wonderful to use and I've noticed a huge difference in the lasting power of my make-up on days when I don't use it. It's an expensive addition to my make-up routine but I do think that it is effective so in that sense it certainly is a worthwhile expense. I reviewed this alongside another Benefit primer here.
Mac's Lustre Lipstick in Syrup
If you've kept up with my blog posts this month you'll have read my Ode to Mac's Lustre Lipsticks and you'll already know the love affair I've been having with them. Syrup is the easiest of the three that I own to wear during the day-time and I've really been loving it this month. I haven't been wearing much on my lips this month but when I do it's either been a slick of gloss or one of Mac's lustres.
That concludes my August beauty favourites! What products have you been loving this month?
loving your picks! I've never seen Essie Rosebowl so I might have to pick it up the next time I'm out! x

I looooove The Porefessional I wish I had more minis of it because I'm running out and haven't found a cheaper alternative for it yet!

This just makes me want to try the Benefit Porefessional Primer even more! My makeup could really use some extra staying power atm but like you say, it is an expensive addition to a makeup routine and that's probably why I've been a bit put off trying it in the past. xx

I love the idea of a pop of colour despite the fact it's Winter! The Essie nail polishes look gorgeous, they actually look Autumn like colours too! I am so jealous of your MAC lippy and I've heard so many good things about Benefit's POREfessional Primer! :)

ugh I want Syrup SO MUCH. Sigh I'm thinking birthday present to myself in October. Great monthly favourites and it's awesome when you get a chance to use some things you already own and love :)

The face oil sounds great, especially since it would help with dry skin, which I have. I usually just use jojoba oil or coconut oil on my face, but I'd love to try out a face oil one day. Especially an organic, natural one :)
