On July 8th I took stock of my ever expanding beauty collection and decided that not only could I survive without buying any beauty products but that it would be positively good for me to reign back the spending and exert a little bit of self control. In less than a moment I had gone from a beauty junkie who was ceaselessly scouting for discounts and sales to someone who could take a step back and just enjoy what she had! It was, and still is, quite a pleasant experience and so far I have yet to spend a penny. I don't know exactly when I'm going to end my spending ban, but I've noted down the 'big dates', so to speak, and it will most likely be one of those.
Those dates are:
August 27th - 50 days
September 21st- 75 days
October 16th- 100 days
I've found that by thinking in 25 day periods of time, rather than in the traditional '100', I can much more easily envisage being successful. And, after all, success is very much the goal of this challenge.
You don't need to worry about this ban affecting my posting schedule, I have lots of products to review and lots of other post ideas in mind for the coming weeks. In the mean time, I'd love to hear from anyone who has attempted or completed this challenge, and any tips are warmly welcomed! In the mean time I'll leave you with my post-spending-ban beauty wishlist as it currently stands.

I went on a "low buy" for about a month and it wasn't too bad, but it's been horribly broken this week. I am brand new to beauty blogging and the like, so I feel like I am only just discovering things which makes it hard to say I can't buy any BUT I don't want to let my collection get (much more) out of control. So it's something for me to keep in mind.
ReplyDeleteAmazing job so far!

84 days is super impressive! I hope I make it that far. Xx
DeleteI'm actually considering going on a spending ban at some point in the near future and seeing somebody else manage it so successfully definitely gives me a little much needed encouragement to give it a try so thank you and well done!
