Spring Makeup: Eyeshadow Palettes

One Little Vice UK Beauty Blog: eyeshadow palettes Green People Bare Minerals Urban Decay

This is the third part in my Spring Makeup Series - part one was all about Spring Blushers and part two was all about Spring Lipsticks. Today, I'm going to be sharing the eyeshadows that I've been reaching for a lot and that I think are just perfect for spring makeup looks. I've got a three different palettes to share with you, along with swatches and a mini review of each one. I hope you find some makeup inspiration!

One Little Vice Beauty Blog: Natural Eyeshadows for Brightening Eye look

One makeup look I love to do during the winter/spring transition is a really bright eye with winged-out black liner and a bright lip. I choose a slightly more summery red or pink lipstick than I might wear during the winter and couple it with a shimmering champagne lid. This is where Green People's Illuminating Eye Duo comes in, it offers a striking wash of shimmering colour that really does what it says on the tin - it illuminates and brightens. It's perfect for doe-eyed makeup looks, or just for brightening up the inner corners of your eyes if you don't like to do full-on eyeshadow looks. I've been reaching for this and Green People's other Eyeshadow Duo in Night Forest quite a lot recently as the shades look really nice together.

Bare Minerals 2.0 Eyeshadow Palette in The Top Shelf

I picked this little duo up whilst I was in Greece and it was pretty much love at first sight. I love Bare Minerals Eyeshadows, they're incredibly buttery and blendable and I really adore all the the colours I've seen. The Top Shelf is such a lovely little duo because it's insanely wearable. It contains two shades Mixologist (a rosy champagne pink) and Cognac (a rich, shimmering brown) and I absolutely love the pink shade - it looks so gorgeous across the lid with a bit of matte brown in the crease. And when I'm feeling like rocking a darker, smokier eye then the brown shade looks gorgeous and really makes my eyes "pop". It's just a fab little duo with gorgeous colours in a fabulous formula, I'd definitely recommend it for spring and summer.

One Little Vice Beauty Blog: Spring Eyeshadow Shades from Urban Decay

For a long time I lusted after this palette but just couldn't take the plunge as I have oh so much makeup as it is. However, my brother very kindly surprised me by getting it for me for Christmas and since then I have been obsessed with rosy-toned eye makeup. I haven't yet tried all the shades out but my favourites so far are Buzz (a rich shimmering pink), Trick (an intense shimmering gold), Nooner (a matte rose-toned mid-brown) and Blackheart (a matte black with pink micro-glitter). If I'm completely honest then the palette isn't everything I wanted it to be but it does have a gorgeous selection of shades and it's really turned me on to pink eyeshadow for the spring and summer - it can look sophisticated and grown-up, you just need to find the right shades for you.

What eyeshadows or palettes are you loving at the moment? Have you tried any of the products I've mentioned in today's post?
