AWESOME FREEBIES #2 Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara

So up here in Leeds last week was freshers' week and I managed to blag myself quite a few freebies, but my only beauty related freebie came from the Elle stand which was outside my Student Union last Wednesday. I didn't really know what was going on at the stand but when I went over I found out that they were selling this month's issue of Elle for just £1 (which is great because I hadn't bought it yet) and along with the magazine they were giving away a full size  Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast Mascara which has an RRP of £10 .

Although I've read a lot about them, I haven't used any Soap and Glory products before so I was glad to have the chance to test out this mascara. I've actually just finished a tube of one of my favourite mascaras (no doubt it'll be in a post sooner or later) so I opened this new one up and have been using it on a daily basis. Almost a week on and I think I've given it a fair trial and feel comfortable to review it now.

The mascara itself is quite thick which I like as I find watery mascaras very annoying. However, there was one thing which I struggled with at first, the brush felt massive!

I had trouble when using this brush as it always seemed to get product on my eyelid and somehow managed to miss out some of the smaller lashes in the corners of my eyes. I have gotten more used to it though and these two problems have reduced with practice. The colour of the mascara is very dark and vivid which for me personally is a must, and although it isn't waterproof I've had no problems with panda eyes over the last six days.

It isn't my favourite mascara as although it does add volume to my eye lashes it does have a tendency towards clumping which I don't have much patience with when it comes to mascaras. I think I'll use it for a while longer but I seem to have acquired a whole stockpile of mascaras that I want to try so I don't know how much longer it'll stay in my make-up bag for!

Have you ever tried a Soap and Glory make-up product?

  1. I haven't tried the mascara but I once bought a lipstick (which I reveiewed on my blog if you'd like a peek) and I was sooo suprised at how gorgeous it was, I wasn't expecting them to be amazing but it was. I have to say I don't like the look of the mascara wand but if it's a freebie who cares lol!

  2. The only make-up from soap and glory I've used are the lip glosses, "mother pucker"

Had to say it last a long time on your lips but I thought it was very sticky :-/
