January Beauty Empties

Oh my gosshhhhhhh - so many empties… I've felt as though I've been keeping hold of a mountain of used products this month. I'm also quite pleased though because I really do have too many beauty products and I'm trying to use a lot of them up before I do any more shopping. There are a couple of things that I didn't manage to take a photo of this month, I either threw the packaging away by accident or I left it in London at my family home. Anyway, there's a lot to talk about today so let's get stuck in!

Lanolips Herbal Treatment Body Oil*

I love body oils, I think they do so much good for my skin and Lanolips' Herbal Treatment Body Oil is the best, most hydrating and luxurious body oil that I used all of last year. I won in a competition and I would definitely go out and pick up bottle after bottle of it now. I think it is a wonderful product and I would high recommend it! Read my full review here.

Moroccan Oil Treatment
This is the bomb-diggity when it comes to hair oils. I love the effect this has on my hair - it smoothes, hydrates and adds a lot of shine. I like the little 25ml bottles (this one lasted me a year) because they're more affordable and travel friendly than the larger ones. I'd definitely recommend Moroccan Oil and I already have another bottle on the go. Read my full review here.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Stay Body Milk
I've loved all the Soap & Glory body products that I've tried and the Smoothie Star Body Milk was no exception. It was really quick to absorb and quite moisturising for a body lotion - usually I'd opt for a body butter or oil but I did really enjoy it as an alternative. The scent was really sweet and perfect for winter but I wouldn't like to use it in the summer months. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes sweet scented moisturisers. Read my full review here.

Elemental Herbology Facial Detox Purifying Facial Mask
I like the effect of this face mask - it does declog my pores quite well - but I really dislike its scent. I definitely wouldn't repurchase it but it was worth trying. Read my full review here.

Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Gel Mask
This face mask offers a really intense chemical exfoliation but it isn't so harsh that it aggravates my skin. What it does do is leave me with incredibly smooth and even skin and helps fade away any marks left by blemishes. I received this in a beauty box and it was a great way to try it out, I'd definitely consider purchasing the full size and I think it's a better product than the Ren Glycolactic Skin Renewal Mask which I also enjoy using.

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask
I'm a long standing fan of this Origins face mask, it declogs my pores really well and I feel as though it helps with my oily t-zone. I've already picked up another tube of this, I couldn't go without it. Read my full review here.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
This is another gorgeous face mask but it's aimed at dry skin. You apply it, leave it on overnight and you wake up with plump, smooth and more radiant skin. I love using it on my cheeks (which get quite dry if they're not looked after) and occasionally I apply it all over my face when I think my complexion needs a bit of a boost. I've never had any issues with this breaking me out and I'd definitely recommend it because I think it's a great product and would suit many different skin types. Read my full review here.

Origins Modern Friction*
This is a seriously dreamy exfoliater. It's really creamy and super effective without being too harsh and it smells fruity which makes it really pleasant to use. I loved this little sample and I would really like to pick up a full-size but I just can't afford to right now. Hopefully later in the year I'll be able to! I'd definitely recommend it to pretty much everyone.

Biotherm Pure.Fect Skin Anti-Imperfection Targeted Solution
This has definitely been a product that I oscillate between loving and hating - it works so, so well at reducing the appearance of blemishes and the marks they leave behind. It is a fabulous product but the packaging allows for a lot of wastage which just isn't cool when it comes in at a not so sweet £15. I'd like to use it again but I won't be instantly repurchasing, however, I would recommend it to those with blemish prone skin. Read my full review here.

Benefit The PoreFessional Primer
This is the best primer I've come across so far for oily skin and open pores. I love it and these sample sizes have kept me going but I think it might be time to invest in a full size tube. I really love Benefit's make-up but it is expensive. However, I think The PoreFessional is one product that is worth investing in. Read my full review here.

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream*
This has actually been empty for a while but I just rediscovered the packaging (it had hidden itself away in one of my make-up bags). I love this BB Cream, I really highly rate it and I would love to pick up the full size in the summertime when the colour match will be better for my skin. Read my full review here.

Lush Honey Trap Lip Balm
This is the lip balm of lip balms, the queen bee, my one true lip balm pairing. I've raved about this all year and I'd definitely recommend reading the post I wrote about it if you want to know my thoughts. I've already picked up another one… can't go without this even for a moment it seems. Read my full review here.

Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF 15
I've been using this ever so sparingly for about a year. I received this Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in a beauty box early in 2013 and I absolutely loved the scent and texture of the product - but it is really hard to buy these in the UK so I can't see myself repurchasing it. If you have a chance to pick one of these up I would highly recommend it. They offer the most hydrating, glossy but long-lasting, sheer colour that you could ever want.

Nivea Essential Lip Balm
This is my 'go-to' budget lip balm and I usually go through one or two tubes a year. I really love it and I've been using it for many years now without any complaints. I don't think you can go wrong with this one and I've even written a full review on it because it's been such a long standing favourite of mine. Read my full review here.

L'Occitane 100% Pure Shea Butter
This has taken over a year to use up but it has been a fantastic multi-purpose product to have in my beauty arsenal. I've used in eczema, dry elbows, dry knuckles, on my lips - anyway that needed an intense dose of hydration but from a really gentle natural product. I'd definitely recommend it and I would like to repurchase it soon. Read my full review here.

The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Eau de Toilette
I love The Body Shop's perfumes and this Eau de Toilette has been a favourite of mine for over a year now. It has the most gorgeous, delicate rose scent that I really can't get enough of. I'd definitely recommend The Body Shop's fragrances and their jasmine range is next up on my wish list.

V05 Plump Me Up Dry Shampoo
I don't have the packaging for this dry shampoo and I remember why! I really didn't like it so when I'd finished it I threw it away almost instantly. I thought it worth mentioning though because it's always good to know what products to avoid as well as what you should pick up. My advice, stick with Batiste and give V05 a miss.

Dove Purely Pampering Hand Cream with Shea Butter
This is another product I didn't love and I'm not even going to finish it, which is unusual for me. It has a  gorgeous smell but it has the weirdest texture I've ever come across in a hand cream. It really is just straightforwardly odd - really wet and sticky and unpleasant to use. I'm going to try and pass this one on to a friend who might enjoy it more than me.

That concludes this month's Empties post! I finished a lot of products this month but most of them have been on their last legs for a while so I don't think February will see quite so many empties. I hope this post has helped any of you looking for new products to try and let me know what products you finished this month that you've really loved using.
